RoomsInView helps families compare licensed residential care homes. We collect as little as we can, we never sell or share your information for advertising, and we delete care details automatically.

What we collect

• Care summary (if you request prices): age, gender, mobility, memory and care needs, budget and how care will be paid. We never ask for names, birth dates, Social Security numbers, insurance numbers or medical records.
• Contact details (only if you request a tour): an email address or phone number so we can pass on the home's replies.
• Messages you exchange with a home through RoomsInView, and your answer to our “did they move in?” check-in.
• Technical data: a one-way scrambled form of your IP address for abuse limits, and essential cookies (staff sign-in, and access to your own conversation). We use no advertising cookies, tracking pixels or data brokers.

How we use and share it

• We use your care summary to show which homes are licensed for your loved one's needs and what each would cost.
• We share your care summary with a care home only when you choose to, by ticking the box on a tour request. We treat it as medical information under California's Confidentiality of Medical Information Act and ask for that explicit authorization every time.
• Your email and phone stay hidden from homes unless you choose to reveal them.
• We use service providers to run the site: hosting, database, email and text messaging. They may use your information only to provide those services to us.
• We do not sell or share personal information, including for cross-context behavioral advertising.
• We may disclose information if the law requires it. As a placement agency we must also report suspected abuse or unlicensed care to the state.

How long we keep it

• Care summaries and their quotes are deleted automatically 90 days after you create them.
• Tour requests and messages are kept for up to 2 years so homes can be held to their published prices, then deleted.
• Abuse-prevention counters reset within a day.

Your rights

California residents can ask to know, access, correct or delete their personal information, and won't be treated differently for asking. You can also ask us to stop contacting you at any time; reply STOP to any text. Email privacy@roomsinview.com and we will respond within 45 days. Because we don't ask for names, we may ask for the link or code from your request to find your records.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit. Private links use long random secrets that we store only in hashed form. Photos uploaded by homes are stripped of location data and reviewed before they are published. If a breach affects your information, we will notify you as the law requires.

Children

RoomsInView is for adults arranging care. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 16.
